Benefit Concert 1 - Every Penny report

You chose to share your hard earned money and valuable time with our organization and we appreciate that immensely. We want to show that appreciation by sharing with you a detailed, down to the penny, breakdown of how much money was raised at the event and how your money will help our efforts in fighting childhood cancer and bringing smiles to the kids battling cancer. It's a top priority of ours to become the most transparent nonprofit organization out there - we don't want to rationalize spending, but rather ration-ize it and have it on full display for the world to see.

And so, let's begin with our first Benefit Concert that took place this past Saturday, 8/22/15.

51          total attendance

$430     at the door

$155      Donations

$111       Purchases

$696     total raised

here is how we plan to spend the $696

$350 will go to pay for the venue rental

$200 will be donated to miller children's hospital childhood cancer research foundation

$146 will go into the organization's fund to maintain the costs of the child-designed t-shirts and other labels

Currently, each t-shirt costs us about $7.40 to make - This includes, blanks, sleeve and neck prints, and front print. We will also be stitching labels to the bottom of our shirts to differentiate between our different product lines, which are currently:

Blue Label - Child designed
White Label - KOZ designed
Red Label - Celebrity designed
Green Label - Artist designed
Purple Label - Band designed

After the cost of the tags + stitching, we will be spending about $9 per shirt. every child that designs a shirt gets one for free. and so, In order for us to maintain this model and pay for the shirts and all necessary supplies, we need to ration our donations into three categories:

Research • t-shirt model • administrative

The breakdown of how a dollar will be split will vary on the type of contribution - outright donation or a t-shirt purchase. t-shirt purchases will put more money back into the t-shirt model in order to sustain it. this is how we look to divy up the donations:

t-shirt Purchases

40%  to research

45%  to t-shirt model

15%  to administrative

OUTRIGHT DONATIONS

80% TO RESEARCH

10% TO t-shirt model

10% TO administrative

The child-designed model is much more important than just raising money - it is our way of bringing joy to the kids. The kids are able to wear the very designs that they create. as a kid, or adult, that's a very cool thing that brings a bright smile to their faces.
